Walmart has an updated coupon policy. You need to grab this and keep it with you in your notebook (if you have one) if you will be shopping at Walmart. There are not really that many exciting changes- you are still better off shopping at grocery stores (see why). As always, you can print coupon policies (or request them) at our page here. Here are the highlights:

They will gladly accept:
-Manufacture Coupons
-Print-at-home Internet coupons that are legible, have “Manufacturer Coupon”printed on them, have a valid remit addressfor the manufacturer, valid expiration date, and have a scannable bar code
-Competitors’ coupons that feature a specific item for a specified price, for example, $2.99
-Soft drink container caps
-Checkout coupons (also called “Catalinas”) that are printedat our competitors’ registers, have “Manufacturer Coupon” with specific requirements printed on them, a valid remit address for the manufacturer, valid expiration date, and a scannable bar code

Walmart will not accept the following:
-Print-at-home Internet coupons that require no purchase (free internet coupons)
-Competitors’ coupons for dollars/cents or percentage off, buy one get one free, and double- or triple-value coupons

Walmart's New Guidelines and Limitations:
-Only one coupon per item.
-Coupons must have an expiration date and be redeemed prior to expiration.
-Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward thecost of the basket purchase.
-We only accept coupons for merchandise that we sell.
- Coupons must be presented at the time of purchase.
-We accept the following withCustomer Service Supervisor/Management approval:
     -40 or more coupons
     -Any coupon over $20

I have spent my kids' naptime working on info about supercenters (namely Walmart and Target). I have included the coupon policies and the price-matching policies, as well as links to both, but I have also spent some time going over the reasons why supercenters are NOT the best way to save money on grocery purchases. If you are one who is convinced that supercenters are the way to go, I would encourage you to check out this information and see if it changes your mind- and, hopefully, your budget! I hope you find it helpful, and please let me know if you have any questions!
