For many of us, our babies were raised in drop-side cribs. However, due to numerous infant deaths, injuries, and crib recalled, the Consumer Product Safety Comission has unanimously voted to outlaw the manufacture, sale, and resale of drop-side cribs. They have also instituted new standards to help ensure crib safety. If you have a drop-side crib, check your hardware to be sure that everything is installed properly. If you are pregnant, be sure to choose a crib that does NOT have a drop-side feature, especially if you buy it second-hand. If you consign your baby items, you will no longer be able to sell these cribs. You can read more details here.
