So I have had questions about Publix getting a new coupon policy... and here it is. Really only a few things have changed- it is mostly just clarification on some things. There are a couple of things i am definitely interested in seeing how they play out at my local stores. This policy goes live officially on May 23rd, but some stores are beginning to implement it now. Here is what is posted on signs now going up in Publix stores:

Publix accepts manufacturer’s coupons (limit one per item), Publix coupons (originals only-no copies), valid Internet coupons, and coupons from nearby competitors identified by each Publix store. (Competitor names are posted at each Publix store.) We will accept coupons from competing pharmacies for prescriptions only. We will not accept percent-off-items or percent-off-total-order coupons. We will only accept coupons for identical merchandise we sell. Acceptance is subject to any restrictions on the coupon, and we reserve the right to limit quantities. Manager approval is needed for individual coupons above $5.00. For a buy-one-get-one free (BOGO) offer, each item is considered a separate sale. We will accept a manufacturer’s coupon and either a Publix or a competitor coupon on the same item. Dollars-off-total-order coupons will be limited to one Publix and one competitor coupon per order. The order total must be equal to or greater than the total purchase requirements indicated on the coupon(s) presented.

So, for some clarification:
-Many stores will stop accepting Target coupons. I imagine that if you have a Super Target in your immediate area, those will still be accepted, but otherwise you will not be able to use them.
-No stores should accept drugstore coupons, except for prescriptions.
-Many stores will no longer let you use more than one of the same competitor coupon per transaction, following the coupon guidelines on each individual coupon.
-Many stores will only let you use one Green or Yellow Advantage Buy coupon, as they state "one per person".
-They may start limiting the number of items you can buy during a sale, which has certainly always been their right anyways. Of course, if you need more than the quantities they allow, you can always visit another Publix to get what you need (unless, of course, it is 60 bottles of mustard! lol).
-If you store has let you use a competitor AND a store coupon on one item in the past, this will stop. It's one or the other.
-The coupon policy and the accepted competitors will now be posted in the store.

When I emailed Corporate they also said that the policy should be available online, so when that is on their site, I will post a link so that you can make a copy of it.

It will definitely be interesting to see how these changes will be implemented in our nearby stores. So what do you think? Is it better or worse than you figured it would be?
