Family Christian stores are offering up a FREE DaySpring Encouragement card. September 12th is National Encouragement Day, so pass it along to someone who needs it! No coupon necessary. Add Comment Just Letting You Know... 08/29/2011
If you are a reader of our Faithful Fridays segment, I just want to let you know that I have moved it. Well, sort of. Instead of posting there sporadically, I created a new blog specifically for faith-based posts. It is called This Mom's Heart and it is a step I have been thinking about taking for a while- and finally made the step at the beginning of August. The blog is geared towards moms and women, and serves to encourage and minister to others. The posts are a mixture of what I am reading, what I am thinking, and insights from being a mom and wife myself. I am really excited about being able to share my heart with you guys in a way that I can't really do here. I started FS&D as a ministry, and am committed to continuing that ministry (ie coupon education and support and helping you save money for your family), but This Mom's Heart is a new forum for more heart-and-faith-based writing. I would love for you to join me there! You can head over here to check it out (catch up on some of the posts), and I would love to be able to interact with you on my This Mom's Heart Facebook page, so please stop by and "like" it. I would be honored to have you along for the journey and for the opportunity to minister to you in a new way! As always, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life! Local Readers: Sell Your Kids' Old Clothes at the Hide and Seek Day Camp Consignment Sale! 08/15/2011
If you have a bunch of gently worn children's clothes hanging around your class, it's not too late to sign up as a seller for the Hide and Seek Day Camp Consignment Sale in Canton (GA)! This sale starts this Friday, so your inventory must be turned in by Thursday (but it's all online- they are using a barcode system this year!). You can sell: -Gently-worn baby, children, junior's and maternity wear that is free from stain, holes, or missing buttons -Toys with all pieces and batteries -Books, movies, etc (in good condition) As a seller, you get 70% of the profit from your items (the other 30% supports the Hide and Seek ministry, which provides Christian-based summer adventure camps for kids). Head over here to view the info and get signed up as a seller! I always "Recycle" my kids' clothes by consigning them and then using that money to pay for new ones. If you have taken one of my classes or been a follower for a while, you know how I feel about All You magazine- if you are a serious couponer, this is a magazine you shouldn't be without. With over $70 worth of coupons in every single issue, it is a great way to build your coupon stash- and getting a subscription means you can avoid going to Walmart! Good deals on All You are very hard to come by- but here is a GREAT one, and it also enables Fab Steals and Deals to support a fabulous cause! If you have been a reader for a while, you have seen me post about Haiti Cheri. Haiti Cheri is a ministry that implements ministry, medical, education, and development programs in poverty-stricken Haiti. Anyone who has seen any coverage of Haiti after the earthquake, hurricanes, and other disasters in the last couple of years know how devastated that country is. The sad thing is that it has fallen out of the news- their plight is just as dire, but aid is no longer as prevalent. I have just formed a special fundraising page that enables you to get subscriptions to your favorite magazines at a huge discount, which will save you money. Even better- up to 40% of your purchase goes directly to Haiti Cheri to help fund their programs and directly help the people of Haiti. There are tons of titles available- but the one that is probably going to be of the most interest to my readers is All You. Through my fundraising page you can get 30 issues of this magazine for only $25- that is only .83 an issue! This saves 67% off the newstand cost. 40% of this goes to Haiti Cheri, which is another great example of how couponing allows you to do more and give more while making a positive impact on your budget. If you have been looking for a great deal on All You or any other magazine, please consider grabbing this deal and helping out a great cause. I personally (and Fab Steals and Deals) will receive NO money from this- funds raised go directly to Haiti Cheri. You can head over here to peruse their titles and grab your subscription. In addition to subscriptions, you can purchase jewelry, Restaurant.com certificates, and even gourmet cookie dough- so this could be a great place to do gift shopping as well! Those of you who are couponing and who have managed to get your stockpile built up can experience one of my favorite community uses: Stamp Out Hunger! Fill up a bag or two on nonperishable and nonbreakable food items and leave them by your mailbox for your mail carrier to pick up. This food then gets distributed in your community to people who need it. The thing I love most about couponing is that it allows me to give back to other people in my community, but doesn't cost me any extra to do. I picked up lots of free pasta at Kroger this week that will be perfect to donate- you can also do canned items, cereal, rice, and so much more. It's a great way to be a good steward of your resources and to use your couponing skills to bless others! To find out more info, go here. I just saw this on the Facebook page of one of my favorite radio stations, so I wanted to share with those of you who need it: City on a Hill UMC in Woodstock, GA is offering FREE gas for single moms who need it on May 7th. From 10am to 2pm you can go to the Texaco gas station located at Hwy. 5 and East Cherokee. From 2pm to 4pm you can go to the Mobile gas station at Arnold Mill Road and Trickum. If you need this, or if you have a friend who is a single mom who could be blessed by this, please share this with them! FREE Daily Bible Toolbar! 04/21/2011
